Have you ever wondered, How Google is able to give you accurate search results? or how your Facebook feed always gives you content based on your interests? or how Netflix and Spotify recommend you tv shows and songs based on your interests? well, all of this is possible due to Artificial Intelligence (AI). These are some of the many fields where ai is used. Now we know all this stuff is only possible because of Artificial Intelligence (AI), so the  questions arise 
  • What is Artificial Intelligence(AI)?

The term "artificial intelligence" was coined by John McCarthy, He is one of the founding fathers of Artificial Intelligence(AI) together with Alan Turning, Marvin Minsky, Allen Newell, and Herbert A.simon.Artificial Intelligence(AI) is a very important subject and is gaining popularity at a very fast rate. with the advancement in technology, we are connected to Artificial Intelligence(AI) in one way or another way. and many experts say that Artificial Intelligence(AI) is the future.



Artificial intelligence (AI) is a branch of computer science that emphasizes the development of intelligent machines that can think and work like humans. Artificial intelligence refers to the simulation of human intelligence in machines that are programmed to think like humans and mimic their actions. The term may also be applied to any machine that exhibits traits associated with the human mind such as learning and problem-solving.
let me put this in simple words, Artificial intelligence (AI)is the ability of a computer program or a machine to think and learn, or we can say that it is a field of study which tries to make computers smart. with the advancement of technology, the applications of Artificial intelligence are increasing day by day.
now, let us see some examples where Artificial intelligence (AI) is used
  • Smart assistants ( like Siri and Alexa)
  • optimized, personalized healthcare treatment recommendations
  • conversational bots for  customer service
  • Robo advisors for stock trading
  • spam filters
  • disease mapping and prediction tools
  • social media monitoring tools for dangerous and abusive content
  • song or tv show recommendations from Spotify and Netflix
The above examples give an idea of how much we depend on Artificial intelligence (AI). AI is divided into three subtypes.
  • Artificial  narrow intelligence (ANI)
  • Artificial General  Intelligence (AGI)
  • Artificial superintelligence (ASI)
Artificial  narrow intelligence (ANI) 
This type of Artificial intelligence has a narrow range of abilities and is goal-oriented designed to do tasks like speech recognition, facial recognition, voice assistants, self-driving cars, etc.these types of machines may seem intelligent but they operate under a set of constraints and limitations..We have currently achieved only this type of Artificial intelligence.

Artificial  general intelligence (AGI) 
This type of Artificial intelligence is also called strong AI or deep AI. AGI  is a hypothetical intelligence that has the capacity to understand and act in a way like humans in a given situation. This type of AI is not achieved yet.

Artificial  superintelligence (ASI) 
This type of artificial intelligence is also a hypothetical concept where machines do not just mimic or understand human intelligence and behavior but the machines become self-aware and surpass the capacity of human intelligence and ability.
This type of AI is not achieved yet.

 There are some important concepts related to artificial intelligence and I will give you a brief intro about these concepts.
  • Machine learning (ML)
machine learning is a subset of artificial intelligence. It is defined as the study of computer algorithms that improve automatically through the experience without being explicitly programmed.
  • Deep learning (DL)
deep learning is a subset of machine learning that uses the concept of neural networks to solve complex problems.

       we can say that all three fields are interconnected . for example in facial recognition, these three concepts are used. Artificial intelligence is used for face verification, whereas machine learning and deep learning are used to detect facial features and tag your friends.
so far we have discussed artificial intelligence and its types, important concepts related to artificial intelligence and we also have gone through some of its examples. 
  • Applications of Artificial Intelligence
Artificial Intelligence has a  long-range of applications and its applications are increasing every day with the advancement of technology and A time will reach when machines will do all of our work. Now we will look at some fields and industries where AI is being used.
  • aviation industries
  • education system
  • finance and banking
  • health and medicine
  • marketing 
  • video games 
  • natural language processing
  • vision system
  • intelligent robots
  • self-driving cars
  • smart home devices
  • security and surveillance
  • drones
